Welcome to the Caribbean Safety and Security Net
These report listings are intended to provide easy access to the data obtained through the Security Net during the daily radio broadcasts. These may be an indication of your relative safety or need for extra precautions. It is ALWAYS prudent to lock the yacht when you leave for a trip to shore or a visit to another yacht, to lock the outboard to the dinghy or to the rail of the yacht, and to lock the dinghy to the yacht or to a dinghy dock.

Often, events come in cycles. There may be one person causing the problem and he gets caught; therefore, no problems until he gets out of jail. Or he leaves the area for better pickings elsewhere.

This is not intended to be an all encompassing list of all crimes against yachts in the Eastern Caribbean.  Many incidents go unreported for various reasons:  lack of access to a high frequency radio (usually the case on a charter boat), unawareness of the Net, receive-only capabilities on the radio, lack of concern, reluctance to talk on the radio, don't think it matters. We also accept reports by e-mail and you can use the CONTACT US page to send a report by e-mail. The names of both the reporting yacht and the victim yacht are kept confidential.

In addition to reporting every incident to the Caribbean Safety and Security Net, it is also important to report to the local authorities. Only if they know what is happening in their jurisdictions can they take steps to stop the activity and to apprehend the criminals.
