Welcome to the Caribbean Safety and Security Net
This security effort was begun by Frank Zachar on "Vagabond Tiger" in 1996, in an effort to alert the cruisers in Venezuela about the frequent outboard and dinghy thefts occurring that summer throughout the region. Subsequently, Bob and Robin Jones on "Elixer" (now "Buster") took over the Net, coining the name "Caribbean Safety and Security Net", and started keeping a paper log of security "events". They were assisted and eventually replaced by Don and Judith Kline on "Daisy D" when they returned to the US to outfit their new boat Buster, for a circumnavigation.

Don began keeping an electronic record in a Paradox database from which this data has been converted. Don was then joined by Melodye and John Pompa on "Second Millennium" as backups and relays: Melodye has been Primary Net Controller since August 1999.
